Data protection, cookies, and social media policy of Jdigital and Adigital

Jdigital and Adigital wish to protect and respect your privacy, and to this end we have adopted the security measures stipulated in the legal regulations. Below we explain how and for what purpose we process your information, along with other aspects.

For what purpose and why do we process your data?

Our data processing is justified case-by-case, based on: our legitimate interest, developing an associative or contractual relationship, fulfilment of legal obligations, or consent. The purposes for which we process your data are the following:

  • To manage relations with members, to provide services to non-members, and to maintain the business or institutional relationship.
    This purpose encompasses different data processing operations such as managing relations between member companies and ourselves, providing services to representatives of the member entities and to individuals from non-member entities, or maintaining business or institutional relations.
    • To manage relations with members and provide services.
      We process data to manage the relations between member entities and ourselves, as well as to provide the services that we offer to the representatives of the member entities, such as charging fees to member entities or for services provided, monitoring attendance at events, or responding to questions and claims on the above.
    • To provide services to non-members.
      In these cases, we process the data to provide the services that we offer to non-member companies and individuals such as access to and monitoring of attendance at the events we are organizing or participating in, downloading studies or documents which we publish in our digital media, charging for services, and responding to questions and claims on the above.
    • To maintain business relations.
      We must also process the data of our providers’ representatives in order to properly maintain and manage commercial relations, such as event management, payment of services, or responding to questions and claims on the above.
    • To maintain institutional relations.
      In order to represent our members before public enterprises and institutions, we have to process their representatives’ data.
    • To disseminate our activities.
      In order to disseminate the activities and events that we are organizing or participating in, we tend to take photographs and videos in which the image and voice of the participants appear, which may later be disseminated via our digital and social media.
  • To browse the website and use our digital media.
    We process data to allow and facilitate the service of access to our digital media and the social media in which we participate and to track their use via data storage and retrieval devices, or cookies. This includes offering you the version of the website that best meets the features of the device from which you are accessing it, counting the number of visits to our website, analysing how many emails are opened in relation to the date and time when they are received, or tracking the device on which they are opened.
    We also process data to ascertain the interest in our contents and advertisements on the social media and the types of reactions they cause, such as in the guise of clicks or comments, and to analyse the response rates to the events, publications, and activities we offer.
  • To send notifications about our activities and services.
    We process data to send you notifications via email or text message related to the activities or services we are providing and events we are holding or participating in based on legitimate interest or our consent, depending on the case.
    We also conduct advertising campaigns on the social media for our followers to share our services and events by segments according to our followers’ age and interests using the algorithms and tools offered by each social media channel for this purpose, and according to our followers’ settings on how they receive advertising in their social media user profiles.
  • To prevent fraud and monitor security.
    We process your data to protect the security of your information and the information on our digital media in order to detect and prevent potential security breaches.
  • To fulfil legal obligations and injunctions.
    We have to process your data to fulfil our legal obligations, for example in fiscal, labour, or data protection regulations, as well as to fulfil any injunctions from public bodies.

Where does the information we process come from, and what information do we process?

The information we process comes from:

  • Data you have provided us directly.
    In these cases, you have provided us with the information directly via business cards or forms in our digital media, such as usernames and passwords, your full name, email address, postal address, telephone number, or bank information.
  • Data collected automatically via cookies.
    Likewise, we collect data automatically via cookies or data storage or retrieval devices on browsing and usage of our platform, our social media accounts, and our emails or text messages.
    In these cases, the information contains data on the context, such as the browser version, the IP address from which you connected, the time emails are opened, the pages or sections of the platform you visit, or the terminal from which you are connecting.
  • Data from social media.
    In the social media, we have access to the profiles of the individuals or entities that decide to follow our social media accounts. We access the information available according to the privacy settings each user has determined on each network; for example, if you to not make your email public to other contacts, we won’t see it.
    We do not use information from your social media profile; we solely limit ourselves to interacting with you by posting news on our activities in our network of followers, and when you decide to send us a direct message or make a comment that mentions us.
  • Data from public sources.
    In some cases, we also get data from the contacts of representatives of public or private institutions from public sources.

What are your rights in relation to the information we process?

You have the following rights in relation to your data:

  • The right to know whether we are processing your personal data, to access these data, and to request information on how and why we are processing them and, if applicable, to request a copy.
  • The right to rectify and amend the data when they are not correct or accurate and to request their erasure when they are no longer necessary for the purposes for which we collected them.
  • For causes related to your personal situation, you have the right to object to us processing your data and, if applicable, to revoke the consent you gave us to process them.
  • Under certain circumstances, you have the right to request a restriction on our processing of your data, in which case we shall solely keep them to make and defend claims, for what you have consented us to do, or to fulfil legal and contractual responsibilities.
  • The right to submit a claim to the Spanish Data Protection Agency, as stipulated on its website.

In relation to the data we collect automatically via cookies, you can object to this via your browser control options or the adjustments on your cell phone or other devices that you use to access our digital media. If you wish to control what information we get automatically from the social media, you can do so via your profile options in each of the social media where you have an account. To do so, you have to start the session in the social media and go to your user profile to manage the information that you allow it to make public and who you allow access to this information.

How long do we keep your information?

We keep the information as long as needed to provide the service requested, until you tell us that you object, or until you revoke your consent. In these cases, the information will be duly blocked such that we cannot use it unless needed to file or defend legal or contractual claims. Once this period has elapsed, your data will be permanently deleted.

When we get data automatically via cookies, bear in mind that some may be installed for years. However, you can limit their use in time by eliminating them from your browsers or devices. You may consult detailed instructions on the links mentioned in the section above.

Where do we store your data and who has access to the information?

We protect the information we collect by taking the technical and administrative security measures determined in the legal regulations to prevent unauthorized access, unavailability, and unauthorized sharing.

Our personnel can access your information; they are aware of the ways it may be used and the limitations on this use, and they are subject to the duty of secrecy; the public and legal authorities may also access your information when they request it or when required by the applicable regulations.

To provide the services we offer, our service provision companies must access your data as the data processors; in this case, we have a service provision contact which stipulates the conditions of use and security measures applicable to the data, and they may not be used for other purposes. This includes providers who manage payments for services, data storage, analysis and measurement of the use of our digital services and social media, sending communications via email or text message, and participation in events, surveys, or drawings.

Likewise, to process the information we get automatically on the way you use our services and digital media, we use third-party cookies, and they may access this information to process it for their own purposes. These third-party cookies are:

  • Measurement cookies.
    The application we use to get information from browsing and to measure and analyse the audience is Google Analytics. Developed by Google, it provides us a measurement and analysis service of our website audience. Likewise, it may use these data to improve its own services and offer services to other companies.     The information they get is related to the number of pages visited, the language, the social media where our news is posted, the IP address assigned to the city or region you access it from, the number of new users, the frequency and recurrence of visits, the length of the visit, the browser, and the operator or type of terminal from which the visit takes place.
  • Social cookies.
    Our websites have a series of tools or applications that allow you to interact with other applications, such as:
    • Facebook Connect, which allows you to connect to and maintain your Facebook profile associated with our pages whenever you want by clicking on the corresponding button.
    • Google+, which allows you to connect to and maintain your Google+ profile associated with our pages whenever you want by clicking on the corresponding button.
    • Social Plugins on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, which allow you to share or recommend the news we post on our pages in comments whenever you want by clicking on the corresponding button.

What are cookies?

We use different techniques to automatically get the data described above, such as cookies.

A cookie is data, a file, or a data storage or retrieval device which is downloaded on your device when you access our websites or social media accounts or receive an email. Cookies allow data on how you use the aforementioned digital media and the equipment or device from which you access them to be automatically stored and retrieved.
